24 days agoI'm 67 years young. I started anastrazole this week after a lumpectomy (stage 2a) with 1 of 3 lymph nodes positive. I finished 33 radiation treatments 2 weeks ago. The Oncotype biologic tumor recurrence score is 11, 2% Distant Recurrence with AI, <1% Benefit of Chemotherapy. After researching Kisqali as directed by my oncologist, my cost after Medicare if approved is $4700/month for. 3 years is prohibitive. If anyone knows of a way to bring the cost down from $56k per year, please share.

23 days agoThe financial burden of cancer medications can be overwhelming, and this concern is completely understandable. Many patients in this community have found relief through manufacturer patient assistance programs, which often provide significant discounts or even free medication for qualifying individuals. Additionally, organizations like CancerCare, Patient Advocate Foundation, and the American Cancer Society offer financial assistance programs specifically for cancer medications. Some patients have also had success working with their oncology team's financial counselors to explore alternative coverage options or appeal processes with Medicare. These resources can sometimes reduce costs dramatically, so it's worth exploring multiple options to find the support that works best.

18 days agoHave you talked to your oncologist about it? Mine told me yo call them if I was told that I was going yo have to pay a lot of money for my kisqali. There are programs set up to offset the cost.

18 days agoYes, Susan. Thanks for your response. After sharing my concerns about the cost barrier last Thursday, I had a frank conversation with my oncologist on Friday. Her assistant initiated and secured the necessary Medicare insurance preauthorization for their coverage. I further investigated my insurance plan and learned that after I pay $2,100 in rX cost, my cost is $zero for the remainder of the calendar. This is a new cap on rX cost for 2026. I expect to hear from the oncologist in the next few days about the necessary pre-tests and on-going tests to monitor my tolerance to these drugs. I put my trust the Author of my life story. He always keeps His promises. I hope others in need learn that they can benefit from the 2026 rX cap.

9 days agoWhen was your last treatment ? I've had 2 different oncologist give me different answers on whether I should take Kisqali. One said I was perfect candidate and the other said at this point it would not be helpful because I am too far out of completing my treatments.

9 days agoI had the last of 33 radiation treatments on 1/13. I began anastrazole on 1/27. Today I had the preliminary EKG prior to starting to take Kisqali which was delivered to me yesterday, 2/12. My expectation is I will get the green light to start Kisqali.
