a month agoI had a lumpectomy 2 and a half months ago and had 5 radiation treatments and started taking Anastrozole yesterday. Two weeks ago I started spotting after 10 years of menopause so my Oncologist had me get a transvaginal ultrasound and it showed I had 5.3 mm endometrial thickness and it's suppose to be 4 or lower. In two weeks I have outpatient surgery having a hysteroscopy/D&C/ Biopsy I also had a 2.3 cm fibroid that's on top of my uterus. I sure hope I didn't go from Breast Cancer to Endometrial Cancer within 3 months. My gynecologist was glad for me to start taking Anastrozole as it may shrink the fibroid. I'm really taking the Anastrozole for breast cancer. Has anyone had new Cancers pop up while treating the first one?

a month agoThis sounds incredibly overwhelming to be dealing with concerning symptoms so soon after your breast cancer treatment. Many patients in this community have shared similar worries about new health issues arising during their cancer journey, and those feelings of anxiety are completely understandable. The timing does feel scary, but it's encouraging that your medical team is being thorough and proactive with testing to get you clear answers, and the upcoming procedures will provide the information needed to guide your next steps.

a month agoI wish I had info for you. I'm concerned, but just the opposite story. Several years ago I had post menopausal breakthrough bleeding a couple of times, with painful in office biopsies. At least one of them the lining was 8mm. I was difficult to biopsy, several of my gyns retired in succession, and my NP skipped it last time and it was also an alternate year for a PAP at my age. Sooo.. Now I've just run through almost an identical course as you're BC. Low stage, lumpectomy, AI, no more estrodial cream, etc. 7cm fibroid on back side of uterus. Hopefully shrinking. A anyway, I have an upcoming gyn appt, different hospital, and three docs involved in my BC care. I'm just afraid something is going to get missed. Or that I have uterine or ovarian cancer and don't know it. No true concerns. Just a fear. But I'm having to hear myself up to make sure I'm OK now. No more bleeding, so I'm not sure what the medical indication would be for a scan.

a month agoI don't think Anxiety ever goes away once you get Cancer. I will be posting back here on how my biopsy turns out. I probably won't know until next week. Let me know how your appointment goes. It's hard when Doctors retire that you like. I really like my doctor who delivered my first child and he became a surgeon so good for him bad for me. That's been so long ago but never knowing who the next doctor will be has just been normal lately.
