7 months agoDid anyone have an Oncotype DX done on a 4mm or smaller tumor
Accepted Answer
Oncotype DX testing can be performed on very small tumors, including those 4mm and smaller, as long as there's sufficient tissue available for analysis. Many community members have shared experiences with genomic testing on small tumors, and it's encouraging to see how this technology helps guide treatment decisions regardless of tumor size. Hopefully others in the HR+ HER2- community will share their experiences with you!

6 months ago4mm. Lumpectomy. My Oncotype score was slightly elevated. I am opting for APBI for 5 consecutive days starting next week. I am comfortable with my oncologist and the facility. It’s near home. I am 73 and fortunate that I am in excellent health otherwise. Lost mom at 97 so I am looking at the long run.

6 months agoIt can take a couple month's for sure. Most breast cancer is not emergent ,you can take time to research and process how you and your team want to treat it

6 months agoYes. My tumors were both under 2 cm, nodes clear. Oncotype score of 14. I did not need chemo after double mastectomy. However, aromatase inhibitor strongly advised. Took Arimidex for a few months but experienced muscle and joint pain. Took a break, then started Letrozole. So far, no significant side effects.

6 months agoMy tumor was 2cm. Lumpectomy and sentinel biopsy. Two nodes were retrieved, one was positive. Will start 21 rounds of radiation as soon as the incisions heal. Then hormone suppression, but not sure what that will entail. I see the medical oncologist again next week for the updated plan now that Oncatype DX score has arrived. It’s 14

6 months agoI had a lumpectomy yesterday and was told oncotype would not be done if tumor is smaller than 5mm.

6 months agoErica. It was almost 2 months from my lumpectomy, 4 mm., to the time the radiation oncologist decided to order the oncotype. I was on the fence on radiology. That score was elevated and helped me make my decision for APBI, 5 treatments.
