I recently started Anastrozole and still working 3 days a week. I don’t know how much longer I can work. Are you working too?

Many people in this community continue working while on anastrozole, though experiences vary widely - some find they can maintain their usual schedule while others need to make adjustments along the way. It's encouraging to hear from others who are navigating similar decisions about balancing treatment and work life.

I started working full time as a special Ed teacher and I was so exhausted by the time I came home. Anastrozole made my body ache like my bones were going to collapse. Ask your Dr., if this is how you are feeling, to try something different.

I’m having a dull pain in my left heel from standing a lot at work. My left leg goes to sleep if I sit too long in the bathroom too. I don’t know if this is related to the meds or the surgery removal of 2 lymph nodes in the left arm Pitt. From my breast cancer surgery. I feel like I’m living in limbo. Don’t know if I should continue with the medication or just live with the side effects. Which haven’t fully developed yet.

I'm on anastrozole since March. My side effects have been minimal. Talk to Dr to try a different med. I still work full time.

I have been on Anastrozole for 1 year. Also working full time. Mild side effects. Oncologist suggestions have all worked managing side effects.

I am working full time. Some days are extremely hard and don't know if I can do this full time. Other times I'm OK and feel like I can do it. Only 3 years into this Rollercoaster ride. It's a challenge.

Am retired but am caregiver for post stroke husband and do after school care for 6 & 7 year old granddaughters (joy of our lives!). Double mastectomy May '23, 4 rounds of chemo, and have been on anastrozole for 13 months. Main issue is getting hot so easily! NP at Oncologist's office has prescribed effexor and increased dose once. Don't feel it has helped hot flashing much but feel so much better about life in general am happy to take it!
