Treatment decisions for HR+ HER2- breast cancer with micrometastases can vary based on many individual factors, and it sounds like waiting for the oncotype score will provide valuable information to help guide those discussions with the medical team. Many community members have shared their experiences with similar diagnoses, so hopefully others will chime in to offer their perspectives and support during this decision-making process.

Hi Dear@ Ling C I have same dignosis except my tumor size is 2 and 4. Age 40. But the doctor recommended aggressive chemo beside the oncotype, which shows only 2.7% chemo benefit. My oncologist recommended chemo+ radiation+ hormonal medicines. Going To start first chemo on Thursday. Wish you very well in treatment and recovery. Hugs and Prayers

50yrs old. HR positive, Her2 negative. Stage one just under 2 cm, grade 2. Two nodes taken, one had micro mast. I went for the double mastectomy so I could do deep flap reconstruction. My Oncotype was nine. All that said, I saw two different radiation oncologists who felt radiation was over treatment. My regular oncologist said as long as I went on the aromatase inhibitor, Anastrozole, she would not recommend chemotherapy. Originally she also put me on Lupron because I was premenopausal. I decided to have my ovaries out so I didn’t have to get that shot once a month. So long story longer, I did not have either radiation or chemotherapy, and I am now on Anastrozole. I am only six months post recovery and three months on the drugs. So I can’t really tell you how it worked out only how it’s going. 😉
