4 months agoI have been on Letrozole since June 16th wondering if side effects get better as time goes on ?
Accepted Answer
Many people find that Letrozole side effects can change over time, with some experiencing improvement after the initial adjustment period while others may notice different patterns. Since you've been taking it since mid-June, your body is still adapting to the medication. It's encouraging to see you're staying engaged with your treatment, and connecting with others in this community who have similar experiences with hormone therapy can provide valuable insights and support.

4 months agoI've been on Taxol since May. My side effects were hair loss and fatigue. In the beginning, I experienced severe fatigue for two days, now it's three days. I am told it doesn't get better until treatment is done, but your doctor can help you manage it.

4 months agoBeen on letrozole for 28 months. Still get some hot flashes, slight joint finger pain and sometime left hip pain, vaginal dryness and decreased libido. Overall the side effects are minimal and kind of come and go.

4 months agoTired and occasionally nauseous Been on Letrozole since January and it has its ups and downs. For me I found taking it in the morning and eating soon after works best. Tried it at night and was sick all night. Hot flashes are controlled with Veozah and manageable with that. For the occasional nausea I’m using Extra mint gum which helps. Our local United in Pink group recommended mint tea but the gum works when I’m on the go or at work. Tiredness is the biggest thing since I was a night owl and now barely keep my eyes open past 930. Talk to doctor if side effects get to you.

4 months agoFor me, the side effects have been more intense over time. Hot flashes at night, bruise easily, heal way too slowly, dry skin, sagging skin, fatigue, joint pain and stiffness. I crack like a bag of bones when I get up from sitting. I was an extremely active person before all of this happened. Never knew estrogen was so necessary until now. I miss estrogen. 😂

3 months agoI have been on Letrozole for 9 months. Hot flashes got better at 6 months, then came back. I thought walking 3 miles 3-4x per week was keeping my joint pain at bay, but my lower back is stiff and painful every day regardless of my level of activity. I am 55 and feel 85. Gabapentin definitely helped solve sleep disruption. My libido is non-existent, but I could manage that if I could get relief from the pain and stiffness.

3 months agoYes, I’m on year 3 of a supposedly 5 year treatment of hormone blockers. I feel it’s better than letting things grow on their own. The advice comes from the Koman foundation customer care person. Who did the minimal amount to help. I supplement with binders, turmeric black, chlorella, berberine, raw pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flax powder, black seed oil, black seed powder, vitamins, collagen’s, peptides, superfoods, green teas. And anything else that can purge this horrible disease. Massages and self care are a must. Sadly my Dr. gave me no dietary restrictions which should be in conjunction with Letrozole and Zometa. I’m just now able to remember the drug names without having to look. Surviving after cataracts implants, inspire battery, breast ultra sound, mammograms, BRCA test, breast biopsy, breast expanders sessions, breast implants, thousands of blood test, hours under Anastesia, and mastectomy, umbilical hernia, colonoscopy, vaginal biopsy, trigger finger, trigger thumb side effects. All while this country and family’s are divided and is in disarray while trying to manage cancer is overwhelming. While my family lives in other cities and is living their own lives. They do their best to call when they can. You keep fighting is the best advice my uncle gave me.
