How Are You Doing? CDK 4/6 Therapy Check-In

I just wanted to check-in and see how everyone is doing? I'm really curious how many of us are on a CDK 4/6 therapy? Maybe we could do a roll call and share which CDK 4/6 we are on? I thought that might be helpful because the side effects are so different. My experience was with Kisqali.

This is ending my third month on Kisquali. I’ve had minimal side effects but always take the medication on a full stomach after I’ve had breakfast. Also, I’m taking Anastrozole. Currently I’m very well able to be walking 7,000 steps, grocery shopping and other activities. I’m 77.

Just finishing my second week of Verzenio. So far so good but the drug fact sheet is terrifying!

I was on Ibrance for 7 years, 2 years with letrozole then 5 years with fluvestrant. Then, on Kisqali with exemestane for about a year. I've been on capecitabine for about 5 months but my CA27.29 is creeping up. I get scans in May. I talked to my oncologist on Friday and going on a new CDK4/6 verzenio is an option. We'll see in May.

I had finished my 1st 3 week cycle of Kisqali and then had the week off (2 weeks ago), but on the day I was to start again (2nd 3 week cycle) I had blood work, ekg and visit with My Doc. Blood work showed neutrophils were very low. Thus the doc told me to stay off the Kisqali for another week and to take 2 pills (400) per day instead of 3 pills (600). Side effects have been minor. Mostly constipation.

I’ve been on Kisqali and letrozole for 1.5 years — just starting my 19th cycle. Was on 600mg until 2 cycles ago when I was dropped down to 400mg to help with quality of life — namely fatigue. Tolerating it well enough — new hair growth the last few months!!!! Skin & nails thin — and need to take it on a full stomach or my stomach churns, headachy and watery mouth. I’m 70. Too early to tell if I feel that much different on a lower dose… need to do strength training. 😬
