Can I Take Sertraline with Anastrozole?

I’m a week post hysterectomy and just started anastrozle after 8 months of being on tamoxifen. I was on 50mg of sertraline before my breast cancer diagnosis, but am currently not taking anything for my anxiety. Does anyone take sertraline with anastrozole? I’m so concerned that the sertraline will influence the efficacy of the anastrozole….hence, my anxiety.😏

It's completely understandable to feel anxious about potential drug interactions when starting a new treatment regimen. Many patients in this community have navigated similar medication combinations, and discussing these concerns with your oncology team would be the best way to get personalized guidance about your specific situation. Your healthcare providers can review your complete medical history and current medications to ensure everything works safely together for your treatment plan.

I take sertraline 50 mg with letrozole ( it is an aromatase inhibitor also) no one has told me it is contradictory to take together, but ask your Dr.

I thought my fatigue was due to depression. I told my psychiatrist "good news" when I found out I had MBC. "Bad news" I have MBC. I am still taking Cynbalta 90 mg and Xanax daily. I've been on AIs ever since. I told my oncologist and she's good with it. The Cynbalta has kept me from bone pain. Psychiatrists can be a blessing.

Glad your bone pain is under control! I don’t have MBC, I am stage 1, but I think I am experiencing every side effect possible from this letrozole! Makes me feel lousy, but if it lowers chance of recurrence even a little I will continue it.My husband has Metastatic prostate stage 4, and is now beginning to have some bone pain.. maybe the Cynbalta is something he should inquire about.
