Has anyone experienced A1C increases while on Letrozole after breast cancer?

I had a lumpectomy one ago for a HER2-negative, ER/PR-positive breast cancer of 3mm size. I received radiation therapy after the lumpectomy and started Letrozol. No other side effects other that frozen shoulder. My oncologist doesn’t think this is related. My A1C increased from 6.3 to 6.9 in few months and my oncologist suggested me to take Metformin. Any one else had issue with A1C?

Thank you for sharing this experience with the community. Changes in blood sugar levels during hormone therapy treatment is something that other patients have reported, and it's encouraging that your oncologist is monitoring this closely and has suggested a management approach. Many people in similar situations find it helpful to connect with others who have navigated these treatment-related changes. Have others in this community noticed metabolic changes while on aromatase inhibitors, and if so, how have you managed them alongside your cancer care team?
