Breast Cancer Recurrence in Reconstructed DIEP Flap: Seeking Experiences

Has anyone had a recurrence in their Diep flap, reconstructed breast. I have been diagnosed recently. I believe it's very rare. My plastic surgeon couldn't believe it as its stomach tissue. Also, the cancer is now estrogen positive, progesterone negative, which I have just read is as bad if not worse than triple negative. I'm just been put on Kisqali plus Fulvestrant. I would like to know if anyone has this subset of breast cancer and for how long and if treatment is working. Thank you.

This sounds like an incredibly challenging and unexpected situation to navigate. Recurrence in reconstructed tissue is indeed quite rare, which can make it feel isolating when searching for others with similar experiences. The HR+ HER2- community here includes many people managing different treatment combinations, and some may have experience with the specific medications mentioned. Connecting with others who understand both the medical and emotional aspects of this journey can provide valuable insights and support during this difficult time.
