a month agoI’ve read several uplifting posts here, really helps. Thank you! I was diagnosed with Invasive breast cancer late in 2024. I had a double mastectomy in December. From all the imaging, the Dr.’s did not believe the cancer had traveled anyplace and was confined to the small tumor. After the surgery, they found out it had gone to 3 of my lymph nodes. I had 20+ sessions of radiation while taking anastrazole, fairly uncomfortable during that time. They switched me to Letrozole, side effects seem less. My ONCO was 4 and I am so confused about what to do?? Ugh I have several Dr.’s that believe Letrozole is all I need, while several others believe I should be taking Kisquali as well. I struggle with side effects from Letrozole and know Kisquali side effects are more severe. Does anyone have advice for me? Thank you in advance😊

a month agoThis is such a challenging decision, and it's completely understandable to feel confused when different doctors have varying opinions about your treatment plan. The choice between hormone therapy alone versus adding a CDK4/6 inhibitor like Kisqali is complex and depends on many individual factors that only your medical team can fully evaluate. Consider asking your oncologist to explain the specific reasons behind their recommendation based on your pathology results and risk factors, and don't hesitate to seek a second opinion if that would help you feel more confident in your decision.

a month agoHave IDC. Had lumpectomy and 6 lymph nodes removed in early Sept 2025. Stage 1B with 1 sentinel node metastisized. Had to wait 8 weeks to start radiation treatments because was diagnosed with endometrial cancer 3 days before lumpectomy. Had a radical hysterectomy 2 1/2 weeks after lumpectomy/lymphectomy and needed to recuperate. Endometrial cancer was stage 1A with no lymph node involvement. My oncotype score was 0 and no treatment recommended after hysterectomy. Nov -Dec 2025 had 20 radiation treatments with last 5 being boost treatments. Started Letrozole week of Christmas. So far, I can’t say I have any NEW side effects from Letrozole. I haven’t slept well since I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Aug 2025. I already have arthritis so can’t say joint pain is any worse. I have ongoing fatigue but my poor body has been through a lot in last 5 months and I am 69 yrs old. I started doing simple tai chi movements early morning just to gently stretch, wake up , and focus my mind. I hope I am on the upswing in my journey but will just take it 1 day at a time. Prayers for strength and better health to all going through this journey.

a month agoCurrently on anastrazole amd kisqali. Different side effects from each, but some seem to be lessening over time. Have been on anastrazole for 6 months and kisqali for about 5. Currently healing from back surgery (originally planned for 9/24, but postponed due to breast cancer). Paused kisqali for a month prior to surgery. Even with restart, side effects are manageable. But everyone is different.
