6 months agoI am scheduled for my first Lupron shot tomorrow—monthly for the next year with Anastrozole starting once I complete radiation. Have you had a shot yet? Any side effects to report?

6 months agoI’ve been getting the lupron shot for around 5 years now. Started monthly and moved to one every 3 months. Get ready for menopause! Side effects: for me night sweats were the worst part, but also hot flashes and brain fog. My period did stop, so far that’s the best part!!

6 months agoAlso, it’s really hard to say what side effects are lupron vs the AIs(whichever one you take I’ve had anastrozole now on letrozole) but the other big side effect is vaginal dryness and atrophy. I highly recommend staying ahead of that to avoid pain.

6 months agoMy Oncotype was 30 and I’m considering chemo but haven’t decided. How did you make your decision?

6 months agoI had an ocotype of 56… I did chemo. My decision, was if it didn’t and I had a recurrence I’d feel guilty for not doing all I could. I’m 6 years cancer free. Still on anastrozole for another 2 years. Will have a total of 7 years on it. Chemo really wasn’t bad, except the losing hair part. I didn’t work though, but I felt that if I had to I would have been fine. I got a cute wig. It was a bob style and was different from my curly hair. Glad to have my curly hair back though! Good luck with your treatment!
