a month agoI got a 32 oncotype dx score. I am er/pr positive and her 2 -, 54 year. Done with bilateral mastectomy 3 weeks. Recommended theraphy is chemo and hormone blocker. Anyone taking a targeted chemo instead? Haven't spoken with my oncologist yet
Accepted Answer
Targeted chemotherapy typically refers to treatments that attack specific cancer cell features, but for ER+ HER2- breast cancer, the main targeted therapy options are usually hormone blockers like the ones already recommended. Many community members find it helpful to prepare a list of questions about treatment options before meeting with their oncologist, including asking about any clinical trials or newer approaches that might be appropriate for their specific situation. Wishing the best as this important conversation with the medical team approaches.

a month agoHi Theresa. Hope you are doing okay from your mastectomy. Wondering what grade and stage your cancer is?

a month agoThanks for the info. My oncoscore was lower than yours just on tamoxifen. Hopefully your oncologist was able to answer your questions about first line options. Hope all goes well with treatment.

a month agoHi April. Been on tamoxifen since May. Doing okay. Hot flashes. I use the air conditioning a lot and wear layers. I get knee stiffness but gets better more I move. Tolerating it okay. Good luck with the tamoxifen.
