Welcome to this community - dealing with a cancer diagnosis for the first time can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to have questions about treatment plans. The chemotherapy drugs mentioned are commonly used for HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer, though the specific combination and sequence can vary based on individual factors that only the medical team can determine. Other community members who have experience with similar treatment protocols may be able to share their journeys and offer support during this challenging time.

7 months agoOh no how are you doing with the treatments so far?
Community Member
7 months agoSo far they haven't been to bad... the worst part has been the neulasta shot to boost your white blood cells. I have lost 90 percentof my hair.

7 months agoI think I’m going to use the clippers on mine the day before i start chemo that way I have control of it not the cancer or the chemo

7 months agoThey haven’t told be about the neulasta shot yet
Community Member
7 months agoYeah that shot was a surprise to me also. It has to be giving about 24 hours after the chemo. That's the positive outlook with your hair. I should probably cut mine the rest of the way off.

7 months agoI am given a patch for Neulasta that goes off 27 hours after my chemo. My oncologist told me to take Claritin for 4 days to help with bone pain. It worked.

7 months agoThe shot to boost WBC was worse than the AC Chemotherapy for me. It REALLY wiped me out really bad that I went off it and am now on a 3 week cycle instead of a 2 week.

7 months agoHi, I am ER+, PR+, HER2-. I noticed skin changes on the nipple of the breast I had DCIS with lumpectomy & 6 mths chemo & 6 weeks radiation before 20 years ago. My punch biopsy came back metastatic breast cancer. All scans show only in my breasts. My treatment started in November 2023. I am getting Adriamycin (red devil) and Cytoxin every 2 weeks x 4 treatments. Then 27 hrs later, the Neulasta patch on my stomach delivers the meds. I just had my 3rd treatment on 12 Dec. One more scheduled 27 Dec. Then 2 weeks later I will start Taxol for 12 weeks every week. After chemo is finished, I will be scheduled for a double mastectomy around May 2024. I started losing my hair 13 days after my first treatment. I waited to get it shaved after my second treatment. In the meantime go take some new pictures with your husband or family to cherish while you are on this journey. Now that my hair was buzzed, the tiny hairs left stick me when I lie down. Sorry so long; I wish you and everyone the best on this journey. 💗
