a year agoHaving severe swelling in my lower and upper legs following round 3 of Taxotere/Cytoxin. Considering not doing my last round. Anyone have experience with swelling and did it subside after treatment?

This sounds like a really challenging side effect to deal with during treatment. Many people in this community have shared experiences with swelling from chemotherapy, and it's something that often improves after treatment ends, though everyone's recovery timeline can be different. It's definitely worth having a detailed conversation with your oncology team about the swelling and your concerns about the final round - they can best help you weigh the benefits and risks based on your specific situation and may have strategies to help manage the swelling.

6 months agoI had TC as well. I had some ankle edema but did all 4 cycles. It did go away a couple of months after treatment. My last cycle was in May.

6 months agoThank you for sharing. I’m supposed to have my 4th and final round next week and I’m feeling nervous about how much worse the swelling will get and whether or not it will go away. My swelling started in my ankles but it has progressed to my upper legs at this point. Appreciate you responding to me and I hope all is going well for you!

6 months agoThe best to you as well! We all respond differently but there is life after chemo. I wasn’t sure when I was going through it.

6 months agoUpdate on my edema. It was severe. Gained about 20 pounds over a 3 week period mostly in my legs but also slightly in my arms. Was put on a steroid regimen and it has helped tremendously. I’ve lost most of the water retention at this point. Just an FYI for anyone that may fall on the extreme end of swelling.
