Has anyone had the Breast Cancer Index test?

Has anyone had the Breast Cancer Index test done? I guess it can tell you if you need to be on hormone therapy for 5 years or 10 years. My oncologist said we can order it in a couple of months when I hit 4 years in Tamoxifen but says insurance doesn’t always cover it. I’d love to hear other experiences and if you think the info you got from it was worth it. Thanks!

The Breast Cancer Index test can provide valuable insights for treatment planning, and it's great that you're exploring this option with your oncologist. Many patients in this community have found these genomic tests helpful for making informed decisions about extended hormone therapy, though experiences with insurance coverage can vary. Hopefully others here will share their experiences with the test and whether the information helped guide their treatment decisions.

I did, and it was recommended I stay on for 10 years. There is just no way my body is going to be able to do that, but at least I know if I can do 6 or 7 it will be better than 5.

I did! Unfortunately, the result said that I am recommended to stay on endocrine therapy for the full 10 years. But it showed that by doing so I could reduce my risk of recurrence from 22% to 8%! So at least now I know that it is actually doing something and it is helping me stay positive about continuing on therapy. Keep us posted on what you decide!

I have not but thank you for posting this question. I have never heard about it but will be sure to ask my oncologist about it when I am close to my 5 yr mark.

I did. I was able to come off exemestane at 5 years! It said I had recurrence rate of 2.4%. I sure hope this was right!!
