Recently diagnosed epiglottis SCC HPV negative stage 2 - treatment recommended is radiation. Had radiation 5 years ago to tonsil. What is my chances of survival? Are there any pain killers that work best for radiation pain? Any tips on how to survive and manage side effects? Any helps appreciated ?

Facing a second cancer diagnosis after previous treatment brings unique challenges, and many in this community understand the complexity of re-radiation scenarios. While survival outcomes vary greatly based on individual factors that only your medical team can fully assess, stage 2 diagnoses often have encouraging treatment responses. Your care team will be the best source for managing radiation side effects and pain control options, as they can tailor approaches to your specific situation and medical history. This community has many members who've navigated similar journeys and may share helpful insights about managing treatment challenges.
