2 years agoI just had a bilateral mastectomy 2 weeks ago with DIEP flap reconstruction. I am being told I will have to take Tamoxifen but have been reading about its side effects. Can anyone tell me your experience with Tamoxifen? Do you feel the benefits outweigh the risks?

Community members here have shared varied experiences with tamoxifen, ranging from minimal side effects to more noticeable changes like hot flashes or joint discomfort. The decision about hormone therapy benefits versus risks is highly individual and best discussed with your oncology team, who can review your specific pathology results and personal health factors to help guide this important treatment decision.

6 months agoI'm on letrozole but my sister who was first diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago was put in tamoxifen. She did well for several years then started having issues ( bone pain) they switched her to something else she a few months and then back on it. Ahhh has had no issues since
