3 months agoI went from being diagnosed on July 26 from a mammogram to having a double mastectomy August 26. I’m still waiting to see if it’s spread to long nodes biopsies haven’t come back. until they do, I’m wondering if I’m still gonna have to have chemo. I’m glad I chose the double mastectomy without reconstruction because of my age, but it’s still shocking. One part of me. Really glad that I addressed it the most aggressively I can but another part I part of me hasn’t accepted what I lost.

The emotional journey after such major surgery can feel overwhelming, especially while waiting for important test results. Many people in this community have shared that it's completely normal to have conflicting feelings - relief about taking decisive action while also grieving what's changed. Processing these complex emotions takes time, and connecting with others who understand this experience can be incredibly helpful during this challenging period.

3 months agoHi, Alice, I agree with Laurie; give yourself time to process. Focus on healing and recovery, and tackle the next steps when the results come back.

17 days agoIt goes fast the first 1-3 months then it slows down and your left with the “ forever” stuff to deal with. Give your self grace the first few months, it’s a whole lot to digest. Take time to heal, meditate and pray. Good luck.
