6 days agoI have Stage 0, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, and I've had a lumpectomy and radiation. Endocrine therapy, also called hormonal therapy, is listed as an optional step in my plan. It's a group of medicines that block estrogen's effect on breast cells, like tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor. I'm trying to understand it better and would love to hear from others with a similar diagnosis. - How did you think about whether to take endocrine therapy after surgery and radiation? - If you took tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor, what was day-to-day life like for you? Thank you for sharing your experiences or tips.

6 days agoDeciding whether to add endocrine therapy after breast cancer surgery and radiation is a very personal choice, and it makes sense to gather information before deciding. Many people find it helpful to talk with their oncology team about the possible benefits, side effects, and how each option, such as tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor, fits their own situation. Hearing from others in this community about their day-to-day experiences can add helpful perspective, and everyone's journey is different, so we hope more members will share what they've learned.

5 days agoI’m confused why they want you to take those if you were a stage 0? Isn’t your risk of recurrence incredibly small?

4 days agoI had the same stage cancer. I had a lumpectomy and only 5 straight days of radiation. Now I’m on Anastrazole for 5 yrs to delete the estrogen but I understand the estrogen comes back once I stop Anastrazole. Still should be careful because fat cells store estrogen.
