7 months agoAnyone here take the Fluvestrant shots for hormone therapy? I started on Anastrozole but cancer spread after 6 months. Went to Letrozole but started spotting after only 2 months and then started the fluvestrant shots. Been on them for just over 22 months and the pain is getting worse and causing neuropathy type pain all down my leg. Im 72 and have been on this journey for 4 years. Have decided to stop the shots, and maybe just wait and see what happens. Im so tired of being tired and not feeling like going anywhere. Most everyone has given up on me and im alone on this journey.

Fluvestrant shots are indeed used as a hormone therapy option, and the side effects being described are concerns that many in this community share. The fatigue and pain that can come with extended treatment are real challenges that affect quality of life. 6 months agoHi Theresa. I’m 73 and just started fluvestrant exgevia and kisqali. I find I have to keep active everyday. I started oncology yoga which helps give me some energy. I contacted the cancer society in my city and joined a support group and attend 3 exercise classes a week. I too live alone and like the social aspect. I get three shots a week. I have cancer in my hip joint and have degenerative bone disease in my lower back. I also use a vibrating platform to keep the blood flowing through my feet and legs. You can stand on the platform or just rest your feet on the platform while you are seated. Do it while you watch tv. Helps circulate the blood in your legs. Good luck. Hope it helps.
