2 years agoHi, I had invasive ductal carcinoma and was recently found positive for metastatic carcinoma in one of my lymph nodes.I am scheduled to start chemotherapy (Docetaxel and Cyclophosphamide) next Friday every 3wks 4times. Than radiation for 5 weeks. Just trying to find out if anyone else has gone through this, has been on these drugs, has anyone opted to not take any treatment? Please advise. Thank you.

Many patients in this community have shared experiences with similar treatment plans and can offer valuable insights about navigating chemotherapy and radiation. It's completely natural to have questions about what lies ahead, and connecting with others who've walked this path can provide both practical tips and emotional support that makes a real difference in the journey.

6 months agoHi Dawn. I also had idc stage 3b. The chemo was given prior to surgery it shrunk the tumor by 50%. Then I had lumpectomy and removal of 18 lymph nodes. Only one was positive. Then I had radiation for 7 weeks then PT to prevent lymphedema. Have been on hormone blockers for one year. She changed the original order for 5 years of exemestane to 10 years. I have followed her orders but wish I would have done more research in the beginning. Coming up on one year follow up and have a list of questions like why she didn’t mention to me in the beginning that this is considered an advanced breast cancer. Write down any questions that come to mind and ask until you understand. I wouldn’t have changed my treatment plan but if it does come back I will have to ask myself whether additional treatment and side effects are worth it. Since you are early on in dealing with this I wouldn’t give up yet. You can always stop if it becomes too much
