9 months agoI wish I had this app while doing my treatment. I was diagnosed with stage 2 estrogen positive breast cancer in June of 23. I had both breast removed and started hormone therapy. The side effects were awful. I quit treatment completely. Due to my boyfriend having a massive brain bleed. I stay with him in icu for 3 weeks. His parents decided to take him off the ventilator. I have lost everything. He was a master plumber and made good money. I couldn’t afford our house my car payment and all the other stuff. My job has went bankrupt so now there’s that. My insurance has lapsed I’m losing weight like crazy don’t know if it’s the stress or something I need to worry about with the cancer. I’m trying to pick up the peace’s. It’s just hard.

What a tremendously difficult period this has been - facing cancer treatment, such profound loss, and now financial instability all at once would be overwhelming for anyone. The combination of stopping treatment due to side effects and then experiencing such life-changing circumstances creates a perfect storm of stress that naturally takes both an emotional and physical toll. Many community members have found that connecting with local cancer support organizations, social services, and patient assistance programs can help address both the practical concerns about insurance and treatment access, as well as provide emotional support during this incredibly challenging time.

6 months agoDear, you do have it hard. I am so sorry!! Take one crisis at a time. Do you live in a city that has social services?? If so please go talk to them. I am sure they can point you in the right direction. You may not be a veteran but you can also check with them- they have access to socials services also. Also google food banks in your area. We have churches that have food drives weekly . You are not alone ! There’s help out there. HUGS
