Hello, I just signed up for this site and I’m currently undergoing chemo for Triple Positive, Estrogen, Progestogen and HERS2 Positive breast cancer. Wanted to hear from others with this type of cancer and how their journeys are going. Lisa

Welcome to this supportive community! Connecting with others who share similar diagnoses can provide valuable insights and encouragement during treatment. Many community members find it helpful to share their experiences with different chemotherapy regimens and how they've managed side effects. Consider sharing more details about your specific treatment plan or any particular concerns you have - this can help others with similar experiences connect with you and offer their perspectives.

Hi Lisa. I was diagnosed triple positive in April. Lumpectomy in May. I am Grade 3, invasive ductal carcinoma, with DCIS. Negative nodes. Stage 1A. I am into my third weekly set of chemo infusions and doing well as far as side effects. Most annoying is a dull headache. I’m trying to stay hydrated, some ion electrolyte mixes. And I am just starting to have some hair loss when I run my fingers through. I am on herceptin and taxel, with also a cocktail of premeds. 12 weeks total of this, then 9 more months of herceptin every three weeks. Radiation in October for 4 weeks. My care team is great! Very responsive to whatever I need. Now, how are you doing? Anything you want to add about your diagnosis and tell us about your journey so far. When did you start all this?

You are not alone, Lisa! I was also diagnosed last July with grade 3 triple positive breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy, one note was positive, chemotherapy, and six weeks of radiation. I am still on herceptin and Perjetta every three weeks (since I’m HER 2 positive) through August. This is much easier than chemo. If you’re on a Taxol type drug, I would recommend frozen socks and gloves 15 minutes before treatment, during treatment and 15 to 20 minutes after treatment to help to keep you from getting neuropathy. It is not fun, but it was worth it for me to minimize the neuropathy effects long-term. Also, stay hydrated! Don’t be afraid to ask for help from your inner circle to get through chemo. I found that people really want to help. I found that getting outside for a walk was helpful and lifted my spirits. Look for a look good, feel better class through the American Cancer Society. They will give you some great makeup, and teach you to apply it. I wish you well on this journey!

Hi Jane, no worries about the name, I’m not sensitive about stuff like that! I finished my 6th chemo treatment a week ago today, now trying to decide if I want to have a lumpectomy without reconstruction or a double mastectomy without reconstruction. I’ve had implants in the past and had several issues with them so I had them removed a few years ago and don’t want them again.

Hi Stacey, I have a wonderful circle helping me! I finished my 6th chemo treatment a week ago today, now trying to decide if I want to have a lumpectomy without reconstruction or a double mastectomy without reconstruction. I’ve had implants in the past and had several issues with them so I had them removed a few years ago and don’t want them again. My surgery will be in July so I’m trying to prepare for the next stage in this journey.
