a year agoFirst post here! I have Stage IA Invasive ductal carcinoma. Had a lumpectomy with sentinel node removal (2) and breast implant removal and port placement. HER2 +++. Margins were clear and no lymph node involvement. I start chemo 12 weeks of Taxol and Herceptin next Thursday then radiation for 6.5 weeks. I’m a dental hygienist and so afraid I’ll be too sick to work. My oncologist thinks I’ll be fine, but when I read all these posts I’m so scared!! Is there anyone here that’s gone through this and just kept working and did great?? I need some success stories!!!

Many people in this community have successfully continued working during treatment, and it sounds like your medical team has confidence in your ability to handle both work and treatment. Every person responds differently to treatment, so while some may share challenging experiences, others maintain their daily routines quite well. Consider connecting with others here who have similar treatment experiences or work situations - their insights could provide the encouragement and practical tips you're looking for during this journey.

6 months agoI am getting ready to start the same treatment the same day as you are for the same stage and type of BC. I have the same questions so hope there are some on this forum with experience with weekly Taxol plus Herceptin. Good luck with your treatments!

6 months agoWorking is doable but if is not absolutely necessary please don’t do it. For me, I was out of it the first 4-5 days. Once I saw that, I decided to take a medical leave.
