4 months agoManaging side effects from hormone therapy medications can be challenging, and many community members find it helpful to share strategies that have worked for them. Consider discussing specific symptoms with your healthcare team, as they may have suggestions for managing common issues like joint pain, fatigue, or hot flashes that some people experience with this type of treatment.

4 months agoI have been on anastrazole for about 6 months. The hot flashes are the worst side effect for me. All others are lessening (dizziness, headaches). Keep your oncologist updated on your side effects. There are things they can help done of the side effects.

3 months agoI’ve been on anastrozole for 2 1/2 years to manage hot flashes. I take MACA 500 mg twice a day approved and OK with my oncologist. I do also have arthritis in my hands and one of my feet that can be pretty severe at times and I find it helpful to keep movement as part of my regular routine. I also use topical cream with anti inflammatory arnica Or arnica gel which helps a lot, and I don’t need to take ibuprofen or pain relieving medication if I use the topical cream. Also chair yoga has helped a lot.

2 months agoRebecca - How well does the maca work? I've read about it and seems like it works well with regular menopause. They are going to put me on Arimidex soon and want to be prepared. The problem is ALL of the AI's reduce estrogen! I'm not sure if the side effects aren't just from low e not a "particular" drug? What time's do you take anastrozole and maca? Stagger or together?
