a year agoI have anemia, no uterus for over 20 years. Not bleeding. What can this be telling my docs. More tests from the gastrointestinal doctor is in my future . How much fun can one girl have?

Anemia without obvious bleeding can have many different causes, and it sounds like your medical team is taking the right approach by doing thorough testing to get to the bottom of it. Gastrointestinal evaluations are a common next step since internal bleeding or absorption issues can sometimes be the culprit behind unexplained anemia. While the testing process can feel overwhelming, getting a clear diagnosis will help your doctors create the best treatment plan for your specific situation. Hang in there - many community members have been through similar diagnostic journeys and found answers that led to effective treatment.

6 months agoI have found that cancer drugs affect your blood counts. The doctors seem to do nothing unless counts are very low.

6 months agoCatherine good luck with finding out why your anemic. My husband has been under the care of a hematologist/oncologist for years. A lot of trips to the emergency room with blood transfusions along with iron infusions. The last trip to the hospital involved 4 pints of blood given. He just saw the doctor and his hemoglobin is 7.2. Normal is 13. The doctor is surprised but is not figuring out the source. It is very frustrating to say the least.
