9 months agoGetting my oncotype test results today…to determine a plan of treatment. A little nervous, just want to do this and get through it. I know I will have radiation and hormone therapy, the unknown is if I would benefit from chemo.

Waiting for test results can feel overwhelming, especially when they'll help shape the next steps in treatment. The oncotype results will provide valuable information to guide decisions alongside the radiation and hormone therapy that are already part of the plan. Many people in this community have been through similar moments of uncertainty and found strength in taking things one step at a time.

6 months agoI hope your oncotype results were good! Getting my treatment plan was such a relief, it felt like such a long road to get there! I just finished my radiation treatment on Friday and see my oncologist in a few weeks to start hormone therapy. Good luck, during radiation be sure to eat a high protein diet and drink plenty of water! Just breathe and stay positive, you've got this!!

6 months agoGood morning, I am sure at this point you've received your results. if you don't mind sharing what or the results? My diagnosis was 04/16 IDC triple+ high grade with lymph node involvement. I chose a lumpectomy due to the fact if it came back in my breast it would not kill me I would just have it removed then and my body needed the energy to deal with the treatment plan ahead. Also my oncologist said more than likely if the breast cancer came back it would be in the bone liver lung or brain. I had to do four chemos and start on my herceptin treatment before I could do my lumpectomy there was still some live cancer when they removed the tumor but the lymph node cancer was dead. In all I finished treatment 08/17 after 33 rounds of chemo which included the projetta perceptin treatment, and 36 radiations. There have been a lot of improvements and new drugs available now and outcomes have greatly improved. My mother lost all of her siblings before they were 62 from various forms of cancer two brothers and three sisters so I took the BRCA test and was negative for everything. What has your oncologist said? I would be curious as to how if anything has changed if they are similar?

6 months agoAlso forgot to mention I was a complete nervous wreck due to terrible outcomes from family members with cancer (keeping in mind all these deaths occurred in the '70s and early '80s) but once I got my treatment plan things completely changed I felt like I had control of something in a world of uncontrolled outcomes.

6 months agoHi Cathy G! Well I was supposed to get the results. However the order wasn’t sent, and I have to wait 2 more weeks. So now I should know April 2nd. 😞 I do just want to have a plan and pursue it. So I’m hurrying up and waiting still. I’ll let you know when I get it. Thanks for sharing and encouraging❤️

6 months agoHi can anyone that's been on letrozole tell me what side effects you have had I'm supposed to be starting that this week sometime I've already had a lumpectomy in October and I did four rounds of TC and 19 rounds of radiation and I'm done except now I got to take the letrozole I have triple negative but it's not totally triple negative the doctor said because I do have some positive estrogen on the low side but he said he was going to treat me as if it were triple negative

6 months agoDear M Jane W… same here. I have ILC in one breast Stage 1 cancer. 1/11/111. No lymph nodes involved. Taking Letrozole to hopefully downsize the 2.3 tumor because they want to perform a masectomy which I am not in favor of. Cannot have a silicone implant (which is the only rebuild that is done in my hospital) because my body will most likely reject it as a forgien objects.

6 months agoAlicia H I see that you had lumpectomy surgery? I was told that my cancer ILC stage 1 in my left breast does not respond well to chemo. They want to do a masectomy on me, then of course the other breast as well to match with silicone implants. This I am not in favor of. Taking the Letrozole to hopefully decrease the tumor size of 2.3cm to hopefully not have a masectomy I drink lots of lemon type waters, take grape seed extract, pomegranate seed, & Chaga mushroom to help fight the cancer.
