5 months agoI’m in treatment for stage 4 breast cancer, that went a little to the liver and possibly the pelvis. I just found out in April, how do you cope with this diagnosis? My mental health is struggling right now and I take Ativan for anxiety/panic attacks that I’ve been having lately. I’m so depressed and devastated, I need hope, I know many people are living longer with it but I’m so scared.

Finding ways to cope with a metastatic diagnosis takes time, and it's completely understandable that your mental health is being affected right now. Many people in this community have found that connecting with others who truly understand this journey, working with counselors who specialize in cancer care, and taking things one day at a time can help during this overwhelming period.

5 months agoBreathe. There are numerous treatments available, and most are well tolerated and effective. I’ve been on ibrance and fulvestrant for 2.5 years and am currently in remission. My doc says remission can last for years. At first, I was terrified. My first oncologist didn’t communicate with me effectively, so that compounded my fears. What you feeling is normal. However, if your panic attacks are severe, please contact your health care team.

5 months agoHello candy it’s very nice to meet you. I’m a stage 4 breast cancer myself. I was diagnosed on April 2024. The journey is scary but not impossible. Science has advanced so much, I’m still here haven’t finished chemo yet. Is completely normal it’s not easy. Ask your oncologist for an integrative medicine program it helps with group or individual counseling, some have yoga, painting classes and jewelry. It keeps me busy. I’m here whenever you need to chat. All my blessings.

5 months agoHi Candy dx Oct 2024 mbc liver totally ingrossed also in spine and hip. Been on chemo since November currently on second chemo combo. I know it's scary and can overwhelm you if you let it. But there are a lot of treatments available. In the meantime find the things that make you feel happy. Let people help when they offer. Journaling can help you express and sort out your feelings. Find someone to talk to. But above all enjoy your family and friends don't forget to live😃
