2 years agoHas anyone tried StrataXRT for prevention and treatment of radiation dermatitis? It was offered to me as alternative to Mepitel film. (Mepitel Film seems to be gold standard...learned of it on this forum). I have Kaiser Permanente, and they will not use Mepitel film. With gratitude, I would like to hear of anything you may have to share regarding StrataXRT.

It's great that you're being proactive about radiation skin care and exploring your options within your insurance coverage. Many community members have found that different products work better for different people, so hopefully others who have experience with StrataXRT will share their insights with you. Consider discussing both options thoroughly with your radiation oncology team, as they can provide guidance based on your specific treatment plan and skin sensitivity.

9 months agoYes, I used Strata throughout my 20 treatments and had no problems, burns, or dermatitis. Make sure you use daily even if your treatment has ended until it’s gone, that’s what I was told. Good luck!

9 months agoI’m using Mepitel at my own cost and discretion and can’t say it’s working that well. I’m on 13/25 and am definitely starting to see some SE. i wish I’d heard of this other product. I’m willing to do anything and everything to avoid damage. It’s really taking a toll on me mentally. I hate having to do this to this beautiful delicate and intimate part of my body. I feel like this is damaging me to the core of my humanes. I’m not even sure I’m going to be able to make it another 12 sessions! It seems impossible rn :(

9 months agoCaitlin-Thank you for your response🙏🏼. I am so sorry that you are experiencing troublesome side effects. You stated it so perfectly...delicate and intimate...and then to be cooked😭. I want to be your cheerleader...you CAN do it! You can do hard things. Very hard things, over and over again. I want to follow that up with just because you can, doesn't mean it doesn't suck in the biggest way. Sending you a (((hug🤗))). I will report back here once I have experience with the Strata product. My planning session is 8/22😟😳😬.
