a year ago59, DCIS stage 0, nuclear 2, ER+, lumpectomy, no radiation, anastrozole for the next 5 yrs and anemic. Anxiety off the chain, working full time and have no time to deal with this fatigue. WTF?
Accepted Answer
The combination of treatment side effects, anemia, and maintaining a full work schedule can create an overwhelming cycle that many in this community understand. While each person's experience is unique, fatigue and anxiety are common challenges that deserve attention and support from healthcare providers who can help identify strategies for managing both symptoms alongside work responsibilities.

6 months agoI am 57 DCIS stage zero grade 2 ER positive, and I just had a lumpectomy. The plan is to put me on tamoxifen for five years. My tumor was only 2.5 mm. Amazing they found it I meet with the radiation oncologist this week to see if I should have radiation and then do the tamoxifen. My breast surgeon and the medical oncologist didn’t think I should. But I’m afraid that the radiation oncologist is just gonna go with the standards and say yeah you have to do it. Did you make the decision not to do the radiation? Did the radiation and cows tell you you didn’t have to. It’s such a big decision and I am so afraid of the side effects being on tamoxifen

6 months agoThey both spoke with each other and agreed based on the DCISionRX test that was done. It showed that there was no difference that the radiation would had made having it or not. I am post menopause so I was prescribed anastrozole for the next 5 years which scares me to death. I don’t want to have side effects that age me as well but if I don’t do everything that I should tone cancer free, I would feel worse. My family hopes that I made this decision but would had stood behind me any way I chose. Good luck and I am sure you are in the best hands. Make them order you the DCISionRx test. I gave me peace of mind.

6 months agoWhen I started all this, I had no arthritis. My doctor changed my aromatase inhibitor from lexstrole to exam stance as the joint pain was quite intense. Hope this brand helps

6 months agoLet me tell you the meds are killing my legs. I feel like I’ve run 10 miles. I can’t sleep, I move like an 80 year old woman. This can’t be my next 5 years.

6 months agoI am a 80 year old woman, severe leg pain, can't sleep at night. I have had 1 treatment and feel horrible from side effects. I am a believer and trusting God all the way. The Word of God says we are redeemed from the curse of the Law. It's God's will for me to be healed and I stand on His promise.

6 months agoYou should take a look at your diet and see what you can change. Some of that could be what you are eating. I also do acupuncture and stretch therapy, which is amazing.

6 months ago so after meeting with the radiation oncologist, getting a second opinion, I am not doing radiation either. And because I already have degenerative joint disease I’m gonna go on tamoxifen starting Monday. Not looking forward to it. I am post menopausal. But they feel that the aromatase inhibitors, would caused my bodyaches to be worse. They said it’s my decision which one I wanna take.

6 months agoHey just saying if you are anemic of course you will have fatigue work or no work. As a retired nurse my personal experience is low hemoglobin = fatigue … the anxiety comes with it ! So eat a lot of delicious red meats… get the rest you need.. give yourself some self care time ( every day). Whatever that means to you… and it will get better! Better learn how to care for yourself now…good luck. Even controlled breathing throughout the day may be helpful for you… love yourself!

6 months ago(52 yrs old)DCIs, ground 0, stage 3. ER+ with on Lumpectomy. The tumor was .8mm with wide free margins. The DCISionRx test had me @30% odds. The doctors suggested tamoxifen & short course of radiation. But, I had complications from loss of blood supply. Which pushed off healing. I was under a very stressful period of life during the time if it’s true that’s what can cause breast cancer. I am pretty healthy otherwise but I went through major stress & couldn’t eat very much. I didn’t want to throw the baby out with the bath water and with further reduced efficacy due to complication. I wanted to address getting my mitochondria aligned. I have been on a supplement and food journey. I went on the Keto for Cancer as soon as I found out and Quit any type of social drinking. The only part where I really struggle is going to the gym. lol. But, I’m not overweight. I have a dr appt with a functional medicine doctor to work with me on blood monitoring & tests morning forward. I am also waiting for an appointment with aMD Anderson. I just didn’t feel comfortable rushing into the treatments without trying health modifications first.
