2 years agoAnyone here know anything about CRYOABLATION for stage 1a breast cancer? My understanding is it’s not covered by insurance, but a non invasive alternative that saves your breast. I’d love some experience shares or knowledge ❤️

Cryoablation is an emerging treatment option that some patients explore for early-stage breast cancer, though it's important to discuss all treatment approaches thoroughly with your oncology team to understand what might be most appropriate for your specific situation. Hopefully others in the community can share their experiences or knowledge about this procedure to help you gather more information as you research your options.

6 months agoI saw an article about a 79 year old woman that did it at MD Anderson. I know it’s not standard of care so most hospitals won’t do it.

6 months agoI've also read about it for treating inoperable primary breast tumors in mBC pts. I hope it becomes available to people soon!!

6 months agoIt’s not covered because it hasn’t been researched enough to determine its effectiveness for breast cancer. Insurance won’t cover anything without conclusive proof these days. Potential side effects sound a bit nasty.
