I have Stage III triple-negative breast cancer and just learned I'll need radiation therapy after my surgery and chemotherapy. My doctor explained that radiation uses high-energy beams to target any remaining cancer cells in my breast or chest area to help reduce the chance of cancer returning to the treated area. I'm trying to prepare myself for what's ahead and would love to hear from others who've been through radiation therapy after surgery for triple-negative breast cancer. • What was your daily routine like during radiation treatment? • What helped you manage any side effects or challenges during this phase of treatment? I also have TNBC. First had 12 chemos once a week. Used a cold cap. Lots of hair shedding but no reaction to chemo other than being tired. Now on 2nd phase chemo which is 4 treatments once every 3 weeks. Had my third one this week so one more to go. Make sure your doctors give you meds to take for nausea and indigestion. I did have to cut off my hair due to matted mess. Surgery and radiation after this
