I have just had a mastectomy at my left breast . I don’t know yet the result of my limphnodes and istologico results. It was a dcis stage 0 but was large 7 cm so I was advised to remove all Breast + reconstruction . What do I have to expect?

Recovery after mastectomy with reconstruction involves several stages of healing, and it's completely natural to have questions about what lies ahead during this time. Many in this community have found it helpful to prepare for initial discomfort, follow-up appointments, and gradual return to daily activities, while others have shared that having a support system and staying in close contact with their medical team made the process more manageable.

Amelia, I'm learning. Although we all share in commonality here with cancer it seems each situation is a little different. Choices are individual. What I learned from my journey (it's been 4 months now and TX starts is on 11/22), is that its hurry up and wait. The appointments, results, answers, treatment plan all don't come fast enough. What I've read, been told am now experiencing is that it is never as bad as what you think, no matter what your situation is. Surround yourself posibe people, get support if you can (from friends or professionals), trust your gut, do some research, ask as many questions as you need to to feel comfortable about your particular situation and treatment plan. Praying helped me.

Hello Amelia . Just a question, are you sure that the size of the tumor was 7cm and stage is 0 ? As I searched size less than 2cm is state 1

Anyway, It’s good news that tumor is not invasive and it’s in stage 0. Wish you best luck 🤞
