9 months agoMy cold cap experience: It hasn't worked well for me. I was told I'd lose up to 65% of my hair. It's actually closer to 80% now and I'm still losing hair. It's expensive, I get a headache from it and worst of all, I have so much anxiety using it that I wish I hadn't tried it. I do have very thick hair and a lot of it. Maybe my hair was an insulator. Just realize that it doesn't work for everyone as they seem to promise.

Cold caps can be such a difficult experience, and it sounds like this has been particularly challenging with the physical discomfort and anxiety on top of the disappointing results. Every person's response to cold cap therapy varies greatly, and thick hair can indeed make the process less effective since the cooling may not penetrate as thoroughly to the scalp. Thank you for sharing this honest perspective - it helps others understand that while cold caps work well for some people, they're not a guaranteed solution for everyone, and that's important information for patients to have when making their treatment decisions.

6 months agoCheryl, I am curious. Did you do this on your own or hire a cold capping specialist to help you?
