Coping with Discomfort During Breast Cancer Treatment

a year agoI had my lumpectomy with placement of spacer for SAVI radiation on October 16th. The spacer was removed and replaced with the actual SAVI device put in place on the 21st. I felt every inch of those bandages being removed. I have raw spots everywhere that the tape was attached to my skin. I have to be bandaged the entire time this SAVI device is in my breast. I might just go insane.

The discomfort from medical tape and constant bandaging during treatment can be incredibly challenging to endure. Many patients in this community have found relief by asking their care team about gentler tape alternatives or protective barrier products that might help with skin irritation while maintaining proper wound care.
