a year agoHas anyone had radiation of the breast with a seroma present? I was supposed to start radiation last week and I had to be drained for the second time. The doctor removed nine vials of fluid. It is now seven days since my last drainage aspiration and the fluid has returned. I asked the radiologist if I should come in and start the radiation and was told by his nurse that I have been already mapped and I should start the radiation. I am afraid. I don’t want to get lymphedema.

Many members of this community have faced similar situations during their treatment journey, and it's completely understandable to have concerns about starting radiation with this complication. This is definitely a conversation to have directly with your radiation oncologist to discuss the specific benefits and risks in your situation, as they know your complete medical picture best and can address your lymphedema concerns.

6 months agoThey made me wait until it was gone. It stalled radiation for a month. It needed drained 3 times, and 2 rounds of antibiotics. Not a good time!
