Has Anyone Experienced Vision Problems with Exemestane?

Hello! Regarding meds...I started with Anastrozole. Between the profuse sweating and joint pain, I couldn't take it. 2nd stop... Exemestane, some joint pain, but the biggest issue is that it has caused my vision to be blurry off and on, so much so that I had to take a leave from work. Anyone else have vision issues?

Vision changes can be a concerning side effect that some people experience with aromatase inhibitors like exemestane, and it's completely understandable that this would be worrying, especially when it affects work. Many community members have shared experiences with different side effects from these medications, so connecting with others who may have faced similar challenges could provide valuable insights and support during this difficult time.

Update: Oncologist took me off for 2 weeks. Instead of blurry vision everyday, I averaged twice a week. They still don't feel like it's the meds. I have been to an opthomologist, had all of the test ran. No nerve damage, no glaucoma, no eye disease. No issues until I began this medication. I'm afraid to start a 3rd.

Yes! I went thru all 4 meds, with issues on all, until I could tolerate the last one enough to finish…. Tamoxifen, anastrozole, exemestane, and letrozole. Some were horrible. Pain, I couldn’t even move to get out of bed! And yes, eyes blurry, from either one of the last two. Improved once I finished.

@Virginia, glad to see it's not me! Doc wants to try tamoxifen next...I'm not so sure 😞

Btw, I had the profuse sweating, too! Sorry, but the tamoxifen was the worst for me with always being overly hot and always having joint pain. Even tho they said the letrozole would be a combo of all the side effects from all the meds, it actually was the best one for me! But good luck with any of them and your vision! I don’t care what they say, that was definitely from the meds., no other eye issue!

Letrozole Similar for me - but I read it may even out after 3rd month so waiting to see if symptoms lessen We are lucky there are so many choices and we have options to try different ones Does anyone take Claritin with their AI for bone pain? Does it work? Good luck to all!!
