These side effects during chemotherapy are unfortunately common, and many patients find that eating smaller, more frequent meals with bland foods like crackers, toast, or bananas can be easier to tolerate. Staying hydrated and discussing anti-nausea medications with your healthcare team can also make a significant difference in managing these symptoms and maintaining your energy levels.

Ask your chemo Doc for anti nausea meds. Try milkshakes made with Boost or Ensure.

I was the same after chemo. It was more my second treatment that affected my taste with everything. Food still doesn’t appeal to me but I found eating yogurt was good.

I had my first on 2/23…. By Sunday pm everything tasted like the bottom of a metal trash can. Energy was low but got even lower when my white counts dropped, so then I was quarantined. Just try soups, milkshakes, smoothies, protein drinks. You will feel better … I felt better knowing day 12 after chemo…. Small window as it starts all over again

First round of chemo is the worst but I found it got “better” after that. And I hear that often. It’s never easy but the first one really does jar the body in ways you can’t imagine until you’ve walked it. Try drinking some bone broth (it’s loaded with protein & will help with energy), use hydration packs such as Lmnt or another brand that’s low in sugar, & green juice was something I could easily stomach that helped. The biggest thing I did was cbd to help negate side effects from all the treatments. I’m a hemp wellness advocate if you ever have questions there. Best wishes for your next round!

I drank fair life shakes. I was able to eat peaches but meats I could not eat. I could eat toast with apple butter.

The only thing I could eat all the way through was instant mashed potatoes and they stayed down and still tasted good.
