Starting chemo can feel overwhelming, and it's great that you're exploring options like the Paxman cooling cap to help manage potential hair loss. Many community members have shared their experiences with scalp cooling systems, and you'll likely find helpful insights from others who've been through similar treatments - consider sharing any specific questions you have about the process to get the most relevant responses from those who've used it.

Hi Shanna..I am no pro but used it today for the first time. Received the Cap Kit by mail and then watched videos , and did a virtual training session with The local rep. Sometimes they can go to your first appt and help you feel confident putting on. Main thing to know is it requires a bit more time for your visit as after chemo finishes you need to let it return to normal temp to remove etc. It worked fine and hopefully will help with reducing loss and/fueling regrowth. Please reach out by text if you want more answers. 281-381-1594. Best of luck to you.

I got the cooling cap and after the nurse went thru all the trouble setting it up and turned on the cooler I went nuts. The pain of my head freezing was horrible!! So never put it on again! Lost all my hair but it came back quickly and curly!!

I used Paxman Cap for 3 infusions of Taxotere. My hair has thinned out but still holding up. I have balding spots around the ears where the cap didn’t fit close. The cold sensation is painful for the first 10 minutes and then I you get numb. I think cold mitts and booties are worse, compared to the cap. You can ask your doctor for Ativan to help with anxiety and pain (I had it but never used it ). Good luck! You can do it 💕
