What's radiation therapy like on the first day?

This may sound silly but as i was receiving each treatment, I closed my eyes and visualized a little dog i used to have, my favorite dog ever, chasing all the cancer cells away. That helped me get through the treatment .

That feeling of being positioned in an unfamiliar way while staying perfectly still can definitely feel strange at first - many patients describe similar sensations during their initial radiation sessions. The positioning and breath-holding techniques typically become more routine as treatment continues, and the care team is always there to help with adjustments to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
