Has anyone done Testosterone/Anastrozole implant? I’m reading that it mitigates the effects of the Anastrozole and has good results. An oncologist refers you to a gynecologist to implant every 3 months or so. I just read a study on this and am going to ask my oncologist. I have Stage 1, 9 mm, no lymph nodes involved. I have read about the Anastrozole 10 mg. and am terrified of the side effects nearly everyone talks about.

It's great that you're doing research and planning to discuss this option with your oncologist. Many patients explore different approaches to managing hormone therapy side effects, and having those conversations with your medical team is exactly the right approach. Hopefully others in the community will share their experiences with various treatment options to help inform your discussion with your doctor.

That’s interesting. I wonder if it would be worth it to try?

I am about a month in to my 1st pellet. A little bump in energy is the only side effect I’ve noticed. I was stage1 triple positive, less than 1 cm, no lymph node.

Did your oncologist insert the pellet or gyno? Are you happy with it?

My functional doctor did the insertion. I doubt that my oncologist would be on board. So far so good. I have no complaints.

I started the pellet 2 months ago. 100 mg testosterone 4 mg anastrazole. The N P and oncologist don’t feel knowledgeable enough to go higher. The oncologist wants to understand what dose pellet is equivalent to oral dose of 1 mg/day. Of anastrazole.I am meeting with Dr. Rebecca Glasser, who pioneered this work in a few weeks. Based on type of cancer and weight, she’ll set the dose of both testosterone and anastrazole. I am ER+ Her2-. Mycinous carcinoma primarily with DCIS. I felt really crummy for about 5 weeks until the testosterone kicked in. Now feeling much better.

Sounds intriguing! Having multiple side effects from the anastrozole! Been on 1 mg dose for 9 months now. Oncologist says it takes a year to adjust from it, but new side effects keep popping up. Would like to learn more about this process.

Yes, I met with her last Thursday in Dayton. She increased my dose of testosterone from 100 mg to 320 mg and anastrazole from 4 mg to 8 mg. She believes the 8 mg dose of anastrazole is more than enough for my type of cancer. I also had very little relief of symptoms on 100 mg. Of testosterone. Dose of testosterone is high to treat symptoms (especially joint pain)and cancer. Dr. Glaser is very knowledgeable on the subject. She gave me videos and lots of handouts. Her website, hormonebalance.org has all her papers available and handouts. Also, a dosing protocol for oncologists. I’m glad I went. There is no way my practitioner would have given me this dose without Dr. Glaser’s ok. If someone could show me how to download a large video to this site, I am happy to share her videos. They are a compilation of her research and papers. Most important, justification of dose and how serum testosterone is not a good measure for androgen pellet therapy in these videos is great. Also, how beneficial testosterone therapy is to prevent recurrence. How do I feel? I feel a little achy from the increased anastrazole, but not really debilitating. Doing my normal activities. I will update in a couple of weeks when the increased testosterone kicks in. Is there any way she could be invited on the app to answer questions or speak?

So interesting! Unfortunately I can’t help with the download or in who to ask about being on this site. May I ask what you DX was?

I am very interested in learning more about testosterone pellets. I had stage 0 negative breast cancer. I am was fortunate enough to not need chemo or radiation because I opted for a mastectomy. But I have heard Testosterone pellet therapy give you back libido and energy. Has any had this treatment with neg receptor breast cancer?
