Treatment timing can vary significantly depending on many factors specific to each person's situation, and oncology teams carefully consider the best approach for each patient. Many people in this community have experienced different timelines for starting treatment, and there can be valid medical reasons for delays including additional testing, getting second opinions, or waiting for optimal treatment conditions. It's completely understandable to have concerns about timing, and discussing any questions with your medical team can help provide reassurance about your specific treatment plan.

I would think it might depend on what type of cancer you have. From my diagnosis to beginning of treatment was about 3 to 3 1/2 months. But I was a stage 1 Grade 2 DCIS, blood work showed very slow growing tumor.

Thank You Melani for replying. Hope and pray you are feeling well. Hows your treatment went? I am diagnosed with grade 2 DCIS and no treatment started yet and don't know the stage yet.

The time frame my surgical oncologist gave -no more than 30 days after surgery. The reasoning treatment more effective. I don’t know if this applies to all cases. Hope this helps
