8 months agoIs anyone taking Exemestine? I've been on it since October and I'm starting to get bad joint pain in my knee. Just wondering if this was common.
Accepted Answer
Joint pain is a frequently reported side effect with exemestane, and many people in the breast cancer community have shared similar experiences with this medication. It's always worth discussing any new or worsening symptoms with your healthcare team, as they can help determine the best approach for managing side effects while continuing your treatment plan.

6 months agoI’m on it too, 8 months so far, and I am supposed to take it for a total of 5 years. I have joint and bone pain, and I’m told it is common. I supplement with vitamin D and my bones have been okay so far. When the pain is really bad, I get off my feet, which helps some. My heart beat has been irregular and I feel it in my chest, but I had an echocardiogram, and I was told it was okay. I’m going to continue taking the Exemestane, and hope that these symptoms don’t get worse, and so far, so good. These medications aren’t easy on the body, but cancer isn’t either.

6 months agoI took it for 5 years. I,too, had bad joint pain in the knees. Walking turned out to be a Godsend for me. It doesn’t have to be a fast pace, but the movement really does help. It’s been 7 years now and I’ve been off the med for two. Knees feel great but I still walk to this day. It helps with the extra pounds that exemestane causes.

5 months agoYes, thank you! Two years in with exemestane and joint pain is a problem. I try to take 5 days in a row and on a day hoping for relief.
