Hi! Going on my first round of chemotherapy (day 4) for hers+. Can you please recommend things to manage side effects such as fatigue, headache and hot flashes? And do you know more or less by which day do you start feeling less fatigue? Thank you!

Starting chemotherapy can feel overwhelming, but there are several approaches that many find helpful for managing these common side effects. For fatigue, gentle movement when possible, staying hydrated, and allowing plenty of rest can make a difference, while cool compresses or fans may help with hot flashes, and discussing headache management options with your care team is always wise. Recovery timing varies greatly from person to person, so it's important to be patient with your body as it adjusts to treatment - your medical team can provide the best guidance on what to expect for your specific situation.

Always ask your doctor, But what helps me is drinking water, staying hydrated, I have cool air in my house to help with the hot flashes. I start feeling less fatigue maybe 3-4 days after chemotherapy, but everyone is different. Ask your doctor about medication for headaches. I hope that helped!

Hi Lucy, I’m glad you’re feeling better! I just started chemo with three rounds, at first I was terrified, but today was a much better day.
