23 days agoHi everyone. I was Dx with melanoma lesion in L arm wth positive sentinel node bx started on Keytruda for 8 months before recurrence in L axilla detected on pet scan Changed to opdivo plus Yervoy. 1sr treatment was last Friday. What side effects have people experienced when did they start and how often did you experience them?? Has anyone had good success on these drugs I was put in them as a before surgery option to try to reduce size of tumors in hopes of reducing extent of node dissection

Side effects from this combination can vary widely from person to person, with some experiencing fatigue, skin changes, or digestive issues, while others may have minimal effects. Many community members find it helpful to connect with others who have been on similar treatment plans to share experiences and tips for managing any effects that may arise - hopefully you'll hear from some folks here who can offer their perspectives on this treatment combination.

23 days agoI was on Opdivo for over a year but not the Keytruda. With the Opdivo the only side effect I experienced early on was itchy skin . It was more annoying than anything and the Dermatologist put me on some cream that helped but it did subside after a couple months. Other than that I really did not have any side effects. It seemed pretty effective in reducing the spot on my vertebrae but I also had radiation as well so hard to tell which one was more effective. They have me on Opdualag now and hoping have same luck with the side effects. Wishing you the best with your treatments

23 days agoThat's such helpful advice about how side effects vary so much between people - I'd also suggest keeping a little journal of how you're feeling day by day, as it can really help you and your team spot patterns and manage things proactively.

13 days agoI started with Individual and had 11 treatments. The rash was so bad I couldn’t finish taking the 12th. The dermatologist put me on Dupixit which caused a different rash so I stopped after 3 injections. 8 mos later the melanoma became MM in my groin. I was started on a combo Keytruda and Yervoy for 4 mos. This caused Addison’s disease and autoimmune hepatitis and went to my lungs To stay alive with Addison’s, I have to take hydrocortisone 2x d for life. My new oncologist suggested Opdualag and that saved my life. 20lubg nodules became none. Now I’m dealing with the cutaneous nodules.

13 days agoHusband diagnosed with stage IV Metastatic Melanoma (lymph nodes, cervical collar, and chest wall)…. started immunotherapy in December. Opdivo and Yervoy combination for 3 months. Now he is just on Opdivo. His side effects are dry skin, cracked lips, infection in his mouth and tongue, making it hard for him to eat or taste anything, Lack of appetite…This has caused him to lose a substantial amount of weight (-76 lbs since October!!), severe fatigue, however, barring the side effects, PETscan from March showed his cancer is responding to treatment! Waiting on repeat PETscan in June!🙏🙏🙏
