What should I expect before my first PET scan?

I have my first PET scan in a few hours. Any advice? I found the imaging center to be insanely unhelpful and only learned about risks and post scan precautions because my 92 year old mother researched it on AI!

Why did my chemo port need emergency removal?

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? I was supposed to to start my first treatment since switching from AHN Cancer Institute to UPMC Hillman on Friday but it was delayed due to having to have my port removed. The wire going up to my neck was exposed, not sure if because the skin was so thin from losing all this weight or what happened. They sent me in through the ER then admitted me, started IV antibiotics for fear of infection. Anyway, I hate missing treatments, just causes more anxiety. Hope you all are doing well.

Can immunotherapy resume after prednisone for muscle inflammation?

I'm currently on Opdualag immunotherapy. They postponed my last infusion because of inflammation of my core muscles based on my symptoms and bloodwork. HIGH LDH HIGH CRP HIGH CK I'm now on a 5 week course of prednisone. Anyone have this happen? We're you able to resume your IT (immunotherapy) after prednisone? I also have to be followed up by a rheumatologist to come up with a plan so I can resume immunotherapy. Hinting that they might need to add another med to conteract what immunotherapy is doing to my muscles. Anyone out there that might have similar issues like this?

How is recovery from lymph node removal for melanoma?

Hi all.....Im Debi....just had 2 lymph nodes removed in my groin and 1 in my knee....metastatic malignant melanoma. Recovery is tough...drain still in ...hopefully it will come out tomorrow. Anyone else with this surgery....Start immunotherapy in August.

How long does it take to get scan results after cancer treatment?

Had Scan yesterday, now the grueling wait for the results. A little nervous because my last Signatera blood test was not the best. Did three rounds of Opduolag so hoping that is helping. Hope everyone else is doing well with their treatments and has a nice 4th of July.
