Can immunotherapy resume after prednisone for muscle inflammation?

Hi Donna. I was on opdivo and yervoy. I actually only got 2 doses. Stopped due to Improvement on pet scan it ended up giving my a bad colitis however. Was on 8 weeks of prednisone taper which helped a little. Also got 2 doses of remicade and 1 dose of entyvio for the GI symptoms it has gotten better but not completely normal yet surgery 2 weeks ago showed complete response to the meds however so that was good news!! Will only need every 3 month pet scans for followup now .. good luck to you

Hi Donna, I had the same issue but it was my liver counts that shot way up. They put me on a high dose of prednisone for about a month then slowly brought me down to a maintenance dose before taking me off. It took about two months before I could resume my treatments again. I hope they get things worked out for you so you can resume your treatments.

Missing treatments is scary but the prednisone seemed to help a lot, hoping it’s effective for you as it was for me. Keep us posted

Happened to me. On Opdualag. Liver enzymes shot up. Prednisone brought them down. Still on a small dose. Something shot my calcium way up. Got it down. For me it's been a roller-coaster but overall I'm hanging in there. A few more treatments until my next CT Scan. PET scans never lit up. 🤔 Patience is key. 🙏🙏

Hi David, i recently switched my care to UPMC Hillman cancer center. They put me on Opdivo and Yervoy, the Yervoy is only for the first 4 treatments then just the Opdivo. So far my counts have stayed in check except for my thyroid is all out of whack so on synthroid. I hope you are doing well

Good to hear from you William. Overall I feel better than I have since last October, when all of this started. My energy level isn't where I'd like it to be but it's improving, slowly. I know the feeling, I always feel wiped out a few days after treatments but like they say we can’t let the bad days win. I am happy to hear you are feeling better. Praying your next scan goes well. I am awaiting my next one as well.
