Why did my chemo port need emergency removal?

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? I was supposed to to start my first treatment since switching from AHN Cancer Institute to UPMC Hillman on Friday but it was delayed due to having to have my port removed. The wire going up to my neck was exposed, not sure if because the skin was so thin from losing all this weight or what happened. They sent me in through the ER then admitted me, started IV antibiotics for fear of infection. Anyway, I hate missing treatments, just causes more anxiety. Hope you all are doing well.
