4 months agoHello! I will be starting Tagrisso in a few weeks. Is anyone on it that can give me any insights? I am struggling with having to take it because of the side effects. All comments welcome good or bad. Thank you Spyke

4 months agoI took Tagrisso for 2.5 years for EGFR pos NSCLC. Mild appetite suppression (which I liked). Bad leg cramps which magnesium helped. Did have episodes of paronychia (infections near finger and toenails). But overall tolerated it well after titrating to target dose. My oncologist has had great experience with it. However the cancer recurred--limited to pleural space. So, chemo again, but also on an antibody (amivantamab). I've been stable for almost a year. My oncologist says he's had great success with Tagrisso, so I hope it works well for you.

4 months agoI am overwhelmed!Thank you for replying…I really don’t want to take it but it has been decided. Luckily I didn’t have to have chemo and the lobectomy got rid of it with no other spots. I do look forward to it being an appetite suppressant🤪My husband is sending me on a girls trip to Spain before I start and can’t be in the sun. I wish you the best in your journey! Please feel free to stay in touch. Spyke

4 months agoYeah. I was careful about the sun, but didn't have any major problems. My nails did get quite brittle. So learned to carry a good nail file. Wish you well. Many people have had great success w Tagrisso. And fun on girls' trip. Just pace yourself and listen to your body!

2 months agoDitto On Mary's comments. I was on tagrisso without any major side effects for 3 years, and then it started to fail me. Got brain lesions, and that is the only place my cancer seems to be advancing. The tip about always carrying a nail file or nail clipper is a good one! My nails are a mess ! And that has only gotten worse with Amivantimab.

2 months agoStarting a new treatment can feel overwhelming, especially when thinking about potential side effects. Many community members have shared their experiences with Tagrisso, and responses can vary quite a bit from person to person. Consider discussing your specific concerns with your healthcare team - they can help you prepare for what to watch for and how to manage any side effects that might come up, making the experience feel more manageable.

a month agoI took Tagrisso for a year before it stopped working. It made me hate the smell of alcohol and I was unreasonably thirsty all the time. I’ve since stopped drinking, which at 54yo isn’t the worst thing I could do. I’m currently on chemotherapy for my NSCLC and the tumor is stable. I feel pretty good about where I am.
